Embrace conflict

Most people don’t think about how they can enhance their capacity to learn and grow by embracing conflict. Embracing conflict positively rather than avoiding it is actually more healthy and can help you grow as a person.

Most of us are not great at handling conflict. But avoiding conflict is toxic to relationships over the long term.

When we avoid conflict it takes us away from connection and towards even more conflict. This means our fear of conflict can actually get in the way of a resolution and mutually satisfying outcomes. Without connection and resolving conflict negative narratives accumulate which poison the relationship.

Conflict is a natural part of being human. Inevitably our needs will come into conflict with the needs of others and we do better if we embrace our conflict and instead use conflict to deepen relationships and build connection rather than avoiding it.

NVC is about building the skills to navigate conflict successfully. To embrace it and see conflict as an opportunity to grow as a person and deepen your relationships.
