One of the interesting things about genetics is that girl babies have two XX chromosomes while males have a Y chromosome.

Hence my sisters joke (somewhat painful) that her primary reason for not getting promoted at a company she worked at was the lack of a Y chromosome.

Other than creating career impediments the presence or absence of a Y chromosome can activate or de-active the impact of other genes. Almost all tortoise shell cats are female.
