How to say good bye to nostalgic items

This is the laptop I had with Windows 2000 when I came to Canada with my company. I found it hard to throw away. But taking a picture and video of it make it easy to take to e-recycling:

This is a good way to say good by to items which have nostalgic value but bring no utility or joy today.

I use the same trick with receipts - take a picture - much less gross than dealing with physical paper receipts.
