Favour versatile items with multiple uses

So initially some of my friends are disturbed that the cats use the same iKEA bowls to eat off that I do. But that I think is because most cat bowls are disgusting. Using fresh bowls for every feed makes a lot of sense and results in less clutter than having dedicated metal cat bowls.

lol I had to adjust this approach when my partner moved in. Back to metal cat bowls - means Yellowfin gets more germs. Oh well.

This is like the design principle of not letting an edge case complicate a core simple design.
