FHIR
FHIR
FHIR stands for Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources. It’s the unexpected consequence of an infamous blog post I made many years ago.
It caused a bit of a stir in the Health Level Seven community at the time. I thought that APIs would replace HL7 messaging - although I think I underestimated the impact of legacy status quo.
FHIR is well meaning but ultimately not that useful - it’s the problem of a committee trying to solve a problem they don’t really understand.
