This is where the power of IguanaX comes in. The ability to customize components to do what you need or write entirely new components from scratch.

Make sure you have Git and your Bitbucket account set up

See Git Credentials and Setting up Bitbucket Access. You only need to this when you set up your Iguana access.

 Create a component

Use the workflow from Create a Component.

Click Edit on the component card, then MAKE A COPY AND EDIT to open the Translator editor

The EDIT ORIGINAL button will be disabled since most users won’t have write access to our templates.

You're in the Translator! To backup your changes in a git repo you'll need to click on the Setup Repository

The cloud icon allows you to set an upstream repository to push and pull changes from.

It's a convenient way to store and collaborate on projects.

Now you can assign or set up a new git repo for your component

The middle area is for convenient access to set up an instance in bitbucket.

Set up a repository in Bitbucket

For Bitbucket we have made the flow a little easier. You can select the Owner and fill out the name for the repository. IguanaX will create the repository in Bitbucket if it does not already exist.

Set up a repository in another platform like GitHub or GItlabs or a local repository

For an example of how to do this switch to this page:

How would I use a non bitbucket repository with IguanaX like github or gitlab?
