Edit a Component

This is where the power of IguanaX comes in - you have the ability to customize and edit components to do what you need or write entirely new components from scratch.

To leverage repositories, set up your IguanaX Git Settings to leverage a Git provider.

Use the workflow from Create a Component.

The EDIT ORIGINAL button will be disabled since most users won’t have write access to our templates. If you create your own templates and add them to Collections, depending on your git user permissions within your team, you may have access to edit the original component project.

The cloud icon allows you to set an upstream repository to push and pull changes from.

It's a convenient way to store and collaborate on projects.

With the Repository Management Screen you can set a component to be stored in Git as a self-contained repository or as a plain folder within your Git Instance repository. Use one of the three options to configure your component:

  1. Turn to a plain folder

  2. Create and link a repository

  3. Connect to an existing repository

Using a repository is the recommended configuration.
