How to install Chameleon Manually on Windows

Iguana install comes with Chameleon application. In certain scenario, you might need to install particular version of Chameleon. See below for detail:

Common Scenarios for manually Install Chameleon

  • Users manually install Chameleon on a Windows machine to dedicate that machine for using the chameleon application only.

    • The purpose of Chameleon only machine would only be to edit VMDs and not operate Iguana Instances

  • Particular version of Iguana that contains Chameleon as part of the installation does contain some problems. It's possible Chameleon would experience an error. In that case we would recommend to install a different version of chameleon.

How to

  1. Create an installation directory to place your chameleon application files.

  2. Download the latest Chameleon no-installer file from our download site:

  3. Extract the contents of this file, and move them into the Installation directory created on step 1.

  4. To start this copy of Chameleon, double-click VMstudio.exe in the install directory.

  5. Follow the Register Chameleon steps – from the “Using the Windows installer” section above.
