Cats and doors

I have never met a cat and a door which they wouldn’t like to be on the other side of.

So I found a new home for Puff with a friend - turns out both her and Yellowfin her son are actually happier not living together. See Why do my cats fight so much?.

I also changed things up so that I joined the league of evil where Yellowfin is allowed to go outside. Yellowfin is a lot happier as a result. Little birds and rodents in the neighbourhood not so much - oh well. If it isn’t cats keeping the population down it would be starvation. There seems to be no shortage of them - circle of life I guess?

Anyway one of my current irritations is how often Yellowfin likes to go outside. He is a very refined little cat and he likes to do his business outside even during cold winter months. Unfortunately this happens at in opportune times like 1am in the morning.

We’d both be happier if he had a cat door. Turns out I am not the only person in the company with this problem. Many staff have pets with similar issues.

There are definitely problems with cat doors. How do keep other cats out? How do stop drafts coming in - Toronto’s winter is severe.

I used Chat GPT with Bing - SEO and Google are going to take a hit to find this product:

It uses the RFID chip that many cats have to only let them in theory. I have bought it and I will see if it works. If it does not I will try another product until I solve this problem.

This isn’t an affiliate link - this isn’t how I make money.

I am getting some help from a really smart problem solver I met called Peter K has been really helpful before solving other problems of this nature.
