HL7 into JSON

Very long video with Joe Amato but good stuff.

Why does it take 9-12 months to implement a HL7 interface? Is it:

• Interface engines are hard to use?

• HL7 engineers aren’t very clever?

• HL7 is difficult and we should be using FHIR?

<joke!>. The issue is that there is a big communication process required when getting a large healthcare system to test out an interface - think boundary cases like when you have twins or triplets. See this article talking about the fundaments of optimizing a communication process.
