Removing the Admin User

IguanaX ships with a single user Administrator account enabled.

  • For Windows and MacOS, the default username is admin, and the password is “password”.

  • For Linux, the default username is admin, and a randomly generated password is provided.

We strongly recommend to create a new User Account with administrator privileges and delete the default admin user for production servers:

  • Login as admin and navigate to Settings > Roles

  • Click to create a #admin User Role and grant full access rights. All boxes should be checked. Click .

  • In Settings > Users, click to create a new User with a secure name

  • Assign the User the #admin role, provide a secure password and click

Logout of IguanaX and log back in as your new User with full admin access rights. Carefully test to make sure you are able to perform all admin tasks, before deleting the built-in admin user.

  • In Settings > Users, go to the admin user and click on the trash icon .

  • Confirm you want to delete the default admin user by clicking .

If you wish to keep the admin user, we recommend changing the default password to a more secure password. See for how to edit an existing User’s password.
