How do we deal with web technology?

The web isn’t short of tutorials on the various technologies of how to use HTML, CSS and Javascript to make websites. What is hard to find is clarity on how to find simplicity amongst all this technology. Web technology has a long history which makes it quite complicated. See my brief history of the web.

At my company we work with web technology like Javascript, HTML and CSS very differently. We do not use frameworks, nor do we use object orientated programming. Instead we try and apply simplicity design concepts which allows to make Iguana which is very sophisticated application. This is a conversation I had with Tyler a member of my development team talking about how we do it.
