So the original problem was the Kidde smoke alarm had been designed by some genius team that thought it would be a good idea to make device that goes into bedrooms have a strobe light every so often. Just to keep me on my toes…

I bought another Kidde smoke alarm which I thought would be better and not have the strobe light ‘feature’. That was unsatisfactory because it was difficult for me to install. It was powered and started to announce in a large loud voice that the battery was slow when I installed it. I took it back and got the Nest smoke alarm which I thought would be easier to install.
