I bought another Kidde smoke alarm which I thought would be better and not have the strobe light ‘feature’. That was unsatisfactory because it was difficult for me to install. It was powered and started to announce in a large loud voice that the battery was slow when I installed it. I took it back and got the Nest smoke alarm which I thought would be easier to install.
