Log Files

All data produced or processed through IguanaX is stored in Component Log Files within a centralized Log Directory. Each component has its own set of log files, ensuring organized and isolated tracking of system activities for better performance and management.

Logs can be stored long-term, with flexible purge rules you define for groups of or individual components. This flexibility allows administrators to manage data storage without disrupting ongoing operations. Even if a component’s message queue becomes blocked, log purging will continue as scheduled, ensuring uninterrupted management of storage space.

Contiguous log storage within each component's log files also enhances searching efficiency. Every log entry is indexed by a unique GUID, precise timestamp (down to the millisecond), and an additional sub-millisecond ID to differentiate messages that share the same timestamp. This structure enables quick identification and retrieval of messages, making log searches both fast and reliable.

For example, in IguanaX, when you open a log message to view the log details, you can see the log timestamp and the location of the log file where this message is stored.
