When you are viewing a log message, you can use Context View to display the log messages that are related to it, providing all of the upstream logs related to the processing of a particular message.

This can be very useful when troubleshooting, for example, if a message fails to process correctly, viewing the related messages can provide you with context to identify at what point during message processing the failure occurred.

STEP 1: In the Logs, select Context View next to a message

Context View can be accessed in two places:

  1. From the Logs page, you can access the Context for each message.

  1. From the Log Details, you can access the Context View for a message.

STEP 2: View the logs related to the message processing

The Context View displays:

  • Upstream Messages to display where the message came from and any pre-processing.

  • Related Messages to display processing steps that have taken place within the component.

In the screenshot below we can see that the message came from the source component, LLP Listener, and was processed successfully by HL7 Mapping.
