We are getting Iguana X very close to being production ready. We are starting working with a few customers using the Iguana 6 Channel Importer to help customers bring their Iguana 6 channels into Iguana X and identify any gaps or problems which would stop them from using it.

The logging system still has some problems which we are working on and we’re really just doubling down on making sure all the features we have built so far are working as expected.

One thing we have found helpful is not to spread out efforts too thin in terms by deliberately switching off support for things which are not core to the product.

What does that mean?

Well it means we only support the Chrome browser at this stage. With a little more effort we could support Firefox and Safari but that is effort and time taken away from getting the core functionality of Iguana X complete. For our purposes Chrome is free and works well so it seems reasonable to use it.

It means for now we are only supporting early adopters using Bitbucket because we have enough headaches working through the integration issues with that platform before we then do Github. Gitlabs will be the last platform we support because it is the most difficult one to test with given that many customers run their own versions of it. For our purposes the free version of Bitbucket works well so it seems reasonable just to use that.

Of course we will support those platforms in good time - but we’d rather be focusing effort on making everything we do deliver as rock solid as quickly as we can and adding requirements for additional browsers, additional git platforms like github and gitlabs will pull us away from getting the core problems tackled.

Happy to discuss.

If you are interested in getting some help trying your interface code from Iguana 6 on Iguana X then reach out to me directly.
