This is labelling, name-calling, criticism. When we assume we know what another person is thinking, feeling or needing. You’re a controlling person. You are a narcissist. You are incapable of understanding emotion. Men with aspergers only feel intimacy through physical intimacy. You just want to use my money.

These are all damaging to connection.

What are alternatives to these words?

“When you close the door I feel alone” versus “You always shut the door and make me feel alone”.

“I feel angry when I don’t have input in picking the movie” versus “You make me angry by never letting me choose the movie!”.
