We are looking to the future with IguanaX. We are making sure that we are building the platform our customers can depend on for at least the next 20 years. But understand that we are making the investments to make sure we are leading in the market and can be here to do business with you 20 years from now.
IguanaX is a new product. We have very clear priorities with it:
Stability
Usability
Compatibility
These are our priorities until we have achieved this with at least 10 customers running solidly in production we will not be putting resources into other areas.
This means it’s important that any customers participating in this process will need to have https://downloads.interfaceware.com/ open. Without it and other key network interfaces the version of IguanaX you have will not be operational.
We fully respect our customers - if this is not something that you can be part of this time - we’re happy to resume the conversation later. We understand how important security is.
Long term though we need to have some real conversations about what how we are really going to solve these security issues.
One of things that is super important is not to run out of date technology. In software we have what are called zero day vulnerabilities. This is when a vulnerability is discovered in a piece of software and until that software is updated by all customers then everyone is vulnerable to that problem.
For instance like every other technology company in the industry (Oracle, Microsoft, Google) we use the openssl library in our product to implement security protocols. If your organization is handling confidential data then one of the biggest vulnerabilities you have is running out of date versions of openssl with known security holes.
