Creating a large number of components to test with is a time-consuming process to do manually. We have tools to make this easier.

Let’s generate 100 components to test the Logs with using the Component Creator tool:

STEP 1: Add the log-generator collection repository
  • In Iguana X, go to the Settings page

  • Go to Git Collections and check the repository list for LogGenerator

  • If it is not there, click Edit then Add Collection and paste in into the newly created row

    https://bitbucket.org/interfaceware/log-generator.git
STEP 2: Add the Component Creator in the dashboard
  • Go to the dashboard

  • Click + Component, and look for Component Creator. Click it, and then click Add

    • To make it easier to see, you can use the filter and type in Component Creator

STEP 3: Run the Component Creator with the count set to 100
  • On the dashboard, double click the Component Creator to bring up the card

  • Set Count to 100 if it is not already set

    • To edit the value, click the 3 dots to the right or just click on the number

  • For this tutorial, do not change the BaseName

  • Run the component by toggling the switch and wait for a few seconds - you should see many components appear on the dashboard

Next let's use the LogGeneratorCaller component to Testing Iguana X Restart Speed with Large Logs.
