A VPN is a private network that uses the Internet to link remote sites together.

Data is transferred over the Internet using secure cryptography to ensure that it cannot be read by unauthorized users. A VPN tunnel is a very popular way to securely send HL7 data over LLP.

VPN configuration and management is done outside of Iguana at the network and server level. The VPN software must be installed and configured on all servers sending and receiving data to ensure all traffic is routed through a secure tunnel.
