On your Windows machine, search “ODBC” to find ODBC Data Sources (64 bit). Right Click and choose Run as Administrator to open the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
Open the System DSN tab and click Add.
Choose the latest PostgreSQL ODBC driver and click Finish.
Enter the ODBC credentials:
Use any Data Source and Description you prefer.
Enter the Network Name of the PostgreSQL Server in the Server field.
Enter the User name and Password.
Optional: Choose your default Database.
Optional: Enter the Port number (default = 5432).
Before creating the data source, click Test to test the connection with your database.
You should receive a Connection Successful test result. If unsuccessful, speak to your DBA (database administrator) and try the tips below.
