What is Lua?

Lua means Moon in Portugese. It’s a language which like Javascript was inspired by the Scala language.

Lua is a lightweight, high-level, and versatile programming language that is designed to be embedded in other applications as a scripting language.

It was created in the early 1990s by a team of Brazilian researchers led by Roberto Lerusalimschy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.

Lua is a powerful language good for intensive data transformation tasks.

Yet is one of the simplest languages to learn.
