Will we support github, gitlab and local git repositories?
Yes we will. But not yet.
Much for the same reason that:
We are only supporting the Chrome browser for now
We are only supporting modern Linux distributions and only a couple of those for that matter
We are not supporting customers who want to run Iguana in a closed network environments which cannot report crash reports, check for updates, access components off bitbucket
IguanaX is nearing the ability to be ready for production but it is not there yet. Our goal is to work quickly with customers to trial out real interfaces in the product so we will be laser focused on finding every problem we can with the core functionality. Expanding the scope too early to support many different platforms will only make it take longer for us to deliver a stable working Iguana X platform.
So for now the answer is no to supporting different GIT platforms, different browsers, many Linux distributions etc. We will reconsider priorities once we get our first 10 customers working solidly in production which is our first priority.
For that to happen we need to do things like getting logging super stable and implement the ability to see a global dashboard for 2500+ interfaces - these are all higher priority than the above.
So for now go see Creating a Free Bitbucket Account
