I had to rebuild my development team in 2018. It was really difficult dealing with the previous team which held a lot of negative narratives about me. So normal organizational things like having a daily stand up which seems like a normal sane healthy thing for a team to do would be interpreted as me trying “to control things”.
Unfortunately this is an issue where there is a deep trust deficit in the history of a relationship. It’s really hard to turn around a damaged relationship and rebuild the trust from scratch.
It’s hard to believe if you look at the relationship I have with my current team.
