Privacy in tech is a big issue

The business model of tech companies like Google and Facebook historically is that end users get their product without a charge. How do they pay for it?

Well someone has to pay all those programmers and for these companies it’s generally advertisers. Hence the expression “you are the product not the customer” when it comes to Facebook etc.
