Incremental progress on blacking out the small window in my room

The original bags over the window fell off since they were a little large. Eliana suggested trimming them which is better!

At this point I know that this solution works and helps with making my room dark. This window is pretty gross - it just looks out into a dark dingy looking brick wall. So window adhesive which completely blocks the window seems like my final solution.

Be nice to find something decorative as well as blocking 100% of light.

This is one of my mother’s paintings I really like - actually it’s fabric done with machine embroidery. I think by replacing the shopping bags with some painted cardboard and figuring out how to position the painting in the centre we could be on our way to solving this part of my bedroom’s light issue in an aesthetically pleasing way.
