Tesla cars are a simple yet complex product

The physical design of Tesla cars are very simple - see the dashboard video.

But because software plays such a huge role in what makes a Tesla car the learning curve is a lot longer than for a traditional car.

I would say this is mostly a very positive thing. Tesla cars are one of those products that the more you get to use it, the more awe inspiring they are in terms of the beauty in thoughtful design. At the stage of writing this I find every day I am learning something new about it.

Did you know that Tesla cars will automatically dip and go on full beam depending on the proximity of other cars? They will even shine on signs as you pass them if there are no cars around. Beautiful!

The problem Tesla has is the same as any company with a complex product has - it’s hard for the general public to appreciate how amazing these cars are. They face the same problem our company faces in that using a Tesla requires a fair amount of education compared to a conventional car.

Why do some people hate Tesla?
