How do we measure?

Looking at my own company’s website I would say we have a lot of challenges measuring anything, we have multiple systems:

  • Documentation site - wordpress

  • API reference - untracked document

  • Training centre - another wordpress instance.

  • Confluence - starting to think about that for documentation

  • Powerpoints - completely untrackable.

  • PDF’s - not trackable.

  • Website stored in hubspot

  • Blog - in another part of the wordpress site

In other words everything is siloed and untrackable.

How can we simplify this and find symmetry? How can we get it so that all roles can track and understand how they are contributing to customer education?

To me all of these things can be represented as web pages:

  • Documentation, API reference, Training centre, website and blog

And even these things:

  • Power point and PDF’s could be replaced by website material. Perhaps one might want to password protect some things but it can be presented using HTML and CSS.
