KISS, Move fast, get things done

KISS, Move fast, get things done

KISS - keep it simple stupid.

This is a key success behavior one wants with a good integration engineer.

Working iteratively, solving problems quickly and getting feedback is going to work much better than over thinking the problem and delivering an over engineered solution.

Why is this?

The key thing is that integrating IT systems successfully involves more than just technology, it’s about understanding how people use the systems and so it’s really hard to think all this stuff out in isolation. Keep it simple stupid (KISS) should be the mantra of every integration project.

Make incremental improvements, see what works, what makes a difference and keep moving.

Don’t make the mistake of boiling the ocean.

See what’s the first thing to do when you need to integrate two systems.
