I think a lot of people procrastinate when it comes to solving organizational issues around their homes and lives in general. For example:

  • I will tackle this project when I get the one tool I need.

  • I cannot find a shelf unit I like so I won’t buy anything

Stop finding reasons not to improve the flow of your life.

Make your day to day tasks smooth and easy. These actions will pay themselves back immediately with more time and less stress. This will then make you more effective at tackling other problems in your life with your work and your personal relationships.

The problem is that one should never hard code solutions to problems you do not understand and if you choose not to solve problems at all then you never really get to fully understand the true nature of your problems and get what you really need.

Also keep in mind it’s human nature to see a problem and fixate on only one solution to that problem. It’s always better to keep the on what problems you are trying to solve and keep an open mind to different ways to solve those problems. See active problem solving.
