People that I love and want to connect with are often not in a place where they can pick up the phone. They might be in a library for instance. Or they might be with their friends or engaged in other activities where a phone call is an interruption.

Everyone has a prefered messaging platform. Personally I love iMessage on the iPhone - I wish everyone would just see the world as I do and speak to me in the way than I am comfortable in.
